When I booked my dive trip to Con Dao, I was picturing beautiful reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But then I discovered something on Amadive Con Dao's dive list: **Wreck Diving**. My pulse jumped. This was more than a typical dive; this was an exploration into the past.
I'll admit, I was a bit a little apprehensive. Wreck diving requires extra care. But the crew at **Amadive** were absolutely professional. The Divemasters provided an excellent briefing. We covered our safety procedures, the history of the wreck, and what we would see. Being in such a small group instantly made me feel confident.
Going down was surreal. First, it's a dark shape in the blue, and then it appeared. It was huge. The ship is now a bustling artificial reef, covered in soft corals and teeming with marine life. We saw giant groupers peeking from inside the hull, and lionfish patrolling the superstructure. That feeling of gliding next to this silent, ghostly structure is hard to describe—haunting, awe-inspiring, and humbling all at once. It's a time capsule check here on the seabed.
For any an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and looking for something more the standard reef, I cannot recommend this **Con Dao wreck dive** enough. It was the unforgettable highlight of my diving trip. A huge shout-out to the **Amadive Con Dao** team for their professionalism and for making this incredible adventure so safe.
